Ms. Hefferlin designed the Paul Ziffren Sports Resource Center when she was a Senior Designer at Kober Cedargreen Rippon in Los Angeles.  The program called for the renovation and adaptive re-use of the historic Britt House into offices and meeting rooms, and new facilities that included a reference library for the history of sports, exhibition space for sports memorabilia, and a multi- purpose room outfitted with state of the art audio video equipment for meetings and presentations.  Ms. Hefferlin designed the new facility as a modern backdrop to the Federal Style Britt Mansion.  The structure combines glass, concrete, and steel with warm cherry wood casework in the interior and a wood garden trellis on the exterior.  The geometry of the plan creates a semicircular cloistered garden.  At the center of the garden is a glass sculpture that supports the permanent installation of the Olympic Flame in Los Angeles.  As principal of Heidi Hefferlin Architects, Ms. Hefferlin continued to work for the AAF, designing the Olympic Flame, the opening exhibition of the Center, and the restoration and adaptive re-use of an adjoining residence into an archival facility.
