Chickamauga Lake Residence
Situated on an island in the Tennessee River, the existing residence had a gracious entry and formal living area, but lacked equally elegant rooms facing the rear shoreline. A wood deck was removed an in its place is added a great room, sitting room, and expanded eat-in kitchen. A new rear balcony of masonry and cast stone provides a substantial base to the composition of the house, and windows are carefully placed to take advantage of the best views. Other added amenities included coffered ceilings, an octagonal ridge-top skylight, private elevator, and informal great room in the basement. Finally, a patio and pool deck are embraced within the angled shape of the added wings.
