Fairmount Avenue Apartments

Fairmount Ave. Townhomes is an 18 unit townhouse development located in North Chattanooga.  The project is being designed for the Chattanooga Housing Authority and will provide low income housing in the desirable North Chattanooga Neighborhood.  The project is being designed to comply with Enterprise Green Communities Criteria and we’re seeking a Gold Certification through the USGBC’s LEED for Homes.  There are 9 three bedroom units at 1383 sq.ft. and 9 two bedroom units at 1103 sq.ft.  All units with the exception of the FHA accessible unit are two story and are typically organized in buildings made up of four units.  The massing of the buildings is based on the ‘salt box’ form, which is a vernacular architecture prevalent in many southern cities.  The buildings will be clad with white clap board siding and incorporate energy efficient windows and doors.  The roofs will be Kynar coated standing seam metal roofs and all south facing roofs will incorporate photovoltaic panels to provide 10% of the projects total estimated energy demand.  The buildings have been organized on the site to make the greatest use of passive solar heating and cooling and to maximize open space.  Three all-weather pathways will be provided to better connect the project to the surrounding pedestrian circulation system and adjacent amenities.         MORE PHOTOS TO COME AS THE PROJECT IS COMPLETED!
