Hefferlin + Kronenberg Architects are teamed with Perkins + Will for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga master plan which is currently in progress. Our role on this project includes acting as liaison with the City Planning and Engineering departments as well as entities such as The Rivercity Company, a redevelopment agency. We also are developing concept alternatives for the campus precincts. Our design emphasis has been on the connection of the University campus to downtown Chattanooga and the surrounding neighborhoods. The project commenced with focus groups and an intense period of data gathering, followed by space program development. The team developed three diverse organizational concepts for the future growth of the University and synthesized them into one best growth scenario. The next phase will be the development of an integrated master plan that outlines future building growth and open spaces.
