Media marketing agency, Area 203, came to HK Architects with a brief to design collaborative work environments for their teams of graphic designers, data analysts, coders, and advertising creatives. Economy was paramount. Located in a former 1940s manufacturing space, the building possessed tall ceilings, a beautiful concrete structure, and plentiful natural light—all of which contributed to the office’s modern industrial aesthetic. Lighting, power, and data infrastructure were overhauled, and existing furniture was inventoried and arranged to foster team interaction. On a tight budget and timeline, we created a calm, simple and elegant space that supports teamwork and encourages collaboration.
