Motlow State Community College needed to address ADA accessibility issues, improve acoustics, and modernize the lighting and sound systems in their 1980s Powers Auditorium in Eoff Hall. In collaboration with acoustical consultants Newcomb & Boyd, we designed a paneled system to improve sound quality in the space. We also upgraded electrical and lighting systems, and installed a new surround sound system. A redesigned proscenium emphasizes the stage, while fresh carpet tile, theater seating, and new paint make the room feel bright and inviting. An extension of the stage offers not only a new interactive and immersive feature for future performances, but helps to modernize the auditorium further by making it fully ADA accessible.
